We are living the cliché’ “Time flies when you’re havin’ fun” to the fullest extent at St. Patrick’s! Between you and me, I’m not sure who’s having more fun, though, the students or the teachers. We had an awesome time with the Gretna Animal Group and their friends – thanks again to the Hogue family for providing this terrific, “hand-on” opportunity! We’ve also had the chance to experience Career Day and create a mock bill; the majority thought that ice cream on Tuesdays seemed like a great idea! This week will be jam-packed as well! We have move-up day, the Acrodunk performance, and field day on our calendar, so expect to hear a lot about what went on at school!
In reading, students will complete presentations and then start in on unit VI. Second and third periods will take on unit work and earn any possible last-minute points toward the A.R. Challenge. Religion will find us wrapping up our PowerPoint presentations and finding that God’s message is EVERYWHERE, if we simply open our minds, ears, eyes, and hearts to hear and see it!
A BIG thank you goes out to all of you for supporting what we do at St. Patrick's! We were overwhelmed by the generosity and spoiling of Teachers' Appreciation Week and appreciate all you do to remind us why we love our jobs so much!
*** Reminders ***
Thank you to all of the super mom's and dads who supplied tasty treats for our Waffle Buffet. We can honestly say that we filled our brains with the knowledge from the novel & our bellies with the goodies you sent in!
Don't forget to read the weekly "Principal Notes." Each issue is filled with the who's, what's, when's, & where's of St. Patrick's! It is a valuable resource for students and parents alike.
Our homefun page is a tool for your use if/when a student is ill or not in school. Since our assignments for the week are posted the Sunday prior to the week's start, everyone shoul dbe aware of what we will complete during the week, and requests for this information are no longer necessary. You may certainly request that books be sent up to the welcome desk, and we will do our best to ensure their delivery. We really appreciate it when they are picked up. If/when a child is ill or absent, it is his/her responsibility to make up work in a timely fashion. Recesses are available for tutorials and make-up quizzes/tests.
